One of the oldest and most widespread crafts in Mexico during the Mesoamerican period was the weaving of stiff fibers, such as palm fronds, into baskets and other basic household goods. A few places in Mexico still preserve this ancient craft, and even innovate with it. Eulalio Alvarado of the state of Jalisco is one such artisan. He created this double layer circular 'throw rug' that will make a charming accent for your home. This piece is shipped rolled, so it will be necessary to lay it out weighed down to flatten for a couple of days.
